Ah I've heard of that one but haven't seen it yet... adding to watchlist!

Some really good Korean movies out there fo rizzle! I remember Attack the Gas Station 1 & 2 fondly, first I ever watched I think. More recently Kill Boksoon. Great too. It's about a hitman who's also a mom, basically.

I stumbled upon Gagnam Zombie recrntly thinking I'd be equally blown away too but... they do do somewhat sub-par ones as well! Twas good, but not perfect.

I'll add those first 3 to my watchlist. attack the gas station looks really interesting.

My all-time favorite movie is Oldboy (2003) which has one of the best most iconic fight scenes of all-time in it. If you haven't seen it I would HIGHLY recommend it, to me it's an absolute masterpiece. Don't watch the awful Spike Lee remake.

I've heard the director has a lot of other great films but for some reason I've neglected to watch many of them despite him making my favorite movie ever. One that I have watched it Thirst (2009) which is a really dark and interesting take on vampires, it's great.

Tarantino listed his movie "Joint Security Area" as one of his top 10 movies of all-time as well. I'm seriously considering binge watching all of his movies but they're hard to stream and I prefer to avoid engaging in alternative methods these days. I don't have the hard drive space for it anyway.

Yeah the Attack the Gas station movies were fun. :) Might've been new to Korean culture overall when I saw 'em, so the mannerisms probably made it even more entertaining at the time... hope they still hold up.

I've seen Oldboy too, though not the Spike Lee remake! Curious now, might have to watch it also, for... conclusivity y'know? Expecting little maybe it'll surprise...

The original was amazing though, agreed. Though it has been a long time since I saw it. Wonder if the action scenes still hold; how they compare to for example modern Indonesian fight coreography now - those really seem to be taking things to the next level. Like for example with The Night Comes for Us, 2018.

As for Korean movies, have you watched some of their horror too? Into The Mirror? They did a Hollywood remake on that one too (Mirrors), but didn't manage to mirror te spook factor at all. They're so good at horror too.

Thirst huh, I'll check that one out too! Been having a bit of a renaisance with vampire movies lately. Not Korean but Day Shift was pretty wild as well. Not dark, just heavy action; impressively corographed.

Aaand Joint Security Area then! :D Titles amounting.

Mmm whatever way works. I used to find exotic titles like this (Into The Mirror for one) on DVD actually, we've had one retailer in particular with a lot of foreign titles, that they eventually sold away real cheap since (fortunately for me) there was no demand for 'em. Think that might've been how I first got into the sometimes weird and wonderful alternative realm of film outside Hollywood. Online though, there's always a way...
